The Triumph of God

When I listen to or read the news, it is common to hear about all the bad things that are happening in one’s community, country, or the world. When I hear about them, my heart fills with compassion and concern. However, it is important to remember that no matter how much evil there is in the world, there is actually more good. We just don’t hear about it as much because people are too busy enjoying the good and no one ever complains about the good. Sometimes I meet people who, with travail, lament, “The world is such a horrible place.” But I want to remind you that there is also so much good in the world…fix your eyes on Jesus and spend the energy of your heart focusing on His triumph and praying for the world. Don’t let evil distract you from the triumph of God.

God’s Word says, “They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”  (Revelation 17:14). Jesus is The Lamb.  He is Lord of all.  Trust Him.  Trust in His triumph over all.

Unfailing Love

‘Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love.  For I have put my trust in You.” Psalm 143:8

There is no greater pain than the loss of love.  Yet there is no greater gain than unfailing love.  Where can we find this unfailing love?  It is found in Jesus Christ.  His love for us never fails.   We can trust Him to love us with a love that is strong, true and lasting.  My prayer for you today is that you wake up to a new morning comforted by the assurance that God’s love for you never fails.

God is love.

God is love.  In Him there is no darkness at all.  He loves you with an everlasting love.  That everlasting love is found in Jesus Christ, The Savior, Redeemer and Deliverer.  He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.  No one comes to The Father but through Him.  Are you ready to go deeper with Christ and to live more fully in His great love for you?

Be Still

“Be still and know I am God.” Psalm 46:10

The Lord will fight for you.  You need only be still. (Exodus 14;14). The Lord wants us to take time to be still and rest in His glorious, loving presence. He is bigger than anything you are going through today.  May the strength of His love, peace and presence be your comfort today.

Here is a song I wrote with this in mind.  May it bless you with His peace, strength and love today!

Be Still – Music and lyrics by Mandy Seymour.

BE STILL

Music and Lyrics by Mandy Seymour

Be still and know I am God
I will be exalted over all the nations
I will be exalted over all the earth
I am your refuge and your strength

So do not fear when heavy waters are crashing down on you
They won’t overcome you. I will carry you

I will never leave you or forsake you
I uphold you with my hand
I am the one who made you
I am the great I am

So don’t think for a moment I don’t know what you’re going through
Just seek my face and I will carry you

Be still and know I am God
I will see you through
I’m the beginning in the end
Walking beside you

Be Strong

Deeper Love Multicolor Pink w Heart 250x250

God does not just want you to be strong.  He wants you to be strong in Christ.  When we are strong in our own power, the pressure is on us. When we are strong in Christ, the pressure is on Him.  He took on the weight of the world and our sin by His death on the cross for us so we may live for Him.

The Bible says, “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”  What is this joy?  At first glance, it almost seems flippant or trite to say, “Oh, have joy in the midst of the suffering you are going through.” But The Lord has already carried the full weight of what you are going through on the cross.  He paid the price for it by shedding His own blood for our sin and the sin of those who sinned against us – the sin of the whole world!

Jesus The Christ was crucified, died, and was buried.  And on the third day He rose again – resurrected from the dead! — for you!   In doing so, He conquered sin, death, hell and the grave so they hold no victory.  Rather, Christ holds the victory!

This great strength which He gives to us through the power of The Holy Spirit is the strength of His love.  To be strong in Christ and in His love is to forgive.  To be strong in Christ is to exercise self-restraint in one’s words instead of lashing out when one is angry or hurt.  To be strong in Christ is to seek His love to cover over you in mercy and to give that same covering to others in their vulnerability before God and man.  His strength is grace-based, based on His unmerited favor. By who He is and His great love, He has conquered sin, death, hell and the grave.  Pray and ask The Lord to help you walk in His strength today.

“Be strong in The Lord and in His mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
